Spouted Pouches: Fitment, Viscosity, and Filling Method
Spouted pouches need fitment selection, viscosity review, seal strength, and material compatibility.
The problem, framed.
A spouted pouch is only as good as the match between fitment, product viscosity, and filling method. Get those three aligned and you have a bottle replacement; misalign them and you have a leaking bag with a cap.
What's actually going on.
Spout diameter and cap style follow viscosity: thin liquids pour through small spouts, purees and gels need wider bores, and squeeze applications want flip-tops with controlled orifices. The spout weld — where rigid fitment meets flexible film — is the structural crux, and fill method matters because spouted pouches fill either through the spout or through an open top sealed afterward, with different equipment for each.
